  Devote a set of themes on André Arbus
 
                                                                           
Born in Toulouse on November 17, 1903, of a family of cabinetmakers;
dies in Paris on December 12, 1969. 
 
After a prépa with Saint-Cyr military school and a licence of right, it returns to the School of the Art schools of Toulouse. It meets there the Parayre sculptor who will become his friend and who will not cease influencing it throughout his life.
 
Once its finished studies, it succeeds his father in the family company. It creates models and the fact of realizing by qualified craftsmen. 
 
 
1925 : It takes part: - with the Living room of the Artists Decorators                             
 
 - with the Living room of Autumn                             
 - with the Exposure of Decorative Arts, by the sending of various pieces of furniture, as soon as noticed and appreciated by criticism. 
 
 
1930 : The gallery " the Time ", located at 33 rue Miromesnil in Paris, publishes and exposes its works.
 
 
1933 : André Arbus settles definitively in Paris. It is considered, at 30 years, like the “leader of the return to the tradition and French quality”, inspired by the styles Louis XVI and Directory, to which there will remain faithful during all his career.
 
 
 
1936 : It receives an important official order: ammeubleument of various Ministries. 
 
1937 : It is present in many houses, in particular with “the Exposure of Arts and Techniques in the modern life”. 
1939 : Participation in “the World Fair of New York”, with monumental a “piece of furniture-proclamation”, in sycamore and lacquer of gold, heralding its work of the Forties '. 
1946 : Regular supplier of the State-owned furniture. It takes part for this reason, in the plan of renovation of the Castle of Rambouillet and the Elysée palace with his friends: Louis Sweats and J.Ch.Moreux. 
 
 
1947-1951: Architect of the “Headlight of Plantier " in Marseilles.  The Fifties ': It carries out installations on steamers and takes part in many exposures.  ARBUS and SCULPTURE: As of the Fifties ', Arbus draws its “piece of furniture-sculpture”. It entrusts the realization of it to his friends, whose Henri Parayre, Vadim Androusov, Sylva Bernt… And in 1952, appear his first pieces of furniture, molten out of bronze.  The sculpture occupies all its work consequently and this, until its death, in 1968.
